Re:Center is an initiative driven by local citizens and anchored in Chicago’s neighborhoods. From 2015-2020, the Chicago Park District’s fifteen Cultural Centers are collaborating with surrounding communities to re-imagine cultural priorities and programming to better address the interests of individual neighborhoods across Chicago’s North, West, and South sides. In 2020, the Chicago Parks District was interested in producing a culminating exhibition about the various neighborhood initiatives. For this project, the Student Team designed elements of an interactive exhibition to be held at the Chicago Cultural Center in 2020-2021 that shares the stories, exchanges, field notes, processes, and materials from this five-year initiative.
