In May 2017, the Bosch Corporation opened a 19,000 square foot incubator in the 1871 space at the Chicago Merchandize Mart. This space, called The Connectory, is used to incubate new organizations working on a variety of elements of the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) field—sustainability, world-making, energy, communication systems and beyond. As part of this incubator, Bosch has designated space for exhibitions and installations titled Systems in Situ: Works Curatorial Program (WCP). The WCP is partnering with SAIC and Management Studio for an ongoing engagement. The Management Studio project team works on research and concept development in the fall semester and on curating and producing exhibition installations in the spring semester. The exhibitions include work and programs exploring the ideas and concepts associated with Internet of Things and art and technology inquiry. |
