Architreasures facilitates art and design initiatives to advance holistic community development. Grounded by local histories, cultural assets, and community aspirations, we nurture creative processes to evolve and grow thriving neighborhoods. Architreasures leads neighborhood public art planning and production; develops and implements community arts programming; identifies, manages, and supports collaborating artists; and provides project fiscal management and fundraising. Architreasures' Riverdale Creative Cultural Connections (RC3) project creates opportunities for Riverdale residents and stakeholders to collectively transform neighborhood and community public spaces by the Little Calumet River, while experiencing the changes that can be made---at the individual, social, and spatial levels---when people come together to support one another's well-being.
The Management Studio team assisted with producing an information session and tour, organizing an open call survey, and developing questions for an artist proposal. The information session and tour introduced prospective artists and organizers to the community partners and neighborhood. Following the information session, the team organized an open call survey for those who attended the information session and those who were unable to attend but would like to propose a project to RC3. In developing questions for an artist proposal, the team engaged with the community partners to strategically ask questions to help in the search to find artists across Chicago that could support the development of spaces for healing and connection in Riverdale, and the production of artwork that will highlight the distinct Black heritage and community interests of Chicago's Far South Side.
